Gawk will sponsor the FESPA Foundation’s expo fabric stand with its TRIGA® system during the Sign Africa and FESPA Africa stand. The event takes place from 9-11 September (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) at the Gallagher Convention Centre, 9am-5pm.

The FESPA Foundation aims to positively impact lives in sub-Saharan Africa by providing printed materials for early childhood development. The Foundation exists to combine waste reduction efforts with meaningful impact for young people living in challenging circumstances. The initiative was founded in October last year by FESPA CEO, Neil Felton.

After the expo, Gawk will manufacture pencil bags for school children from the FESPA Foundation stand’s fabric prints. The up-cycling from Gawk is an initiative they promote to all customers.

Businesses are increasingly being called upon to reduce waste and support environmental initiatives. The display market is no different, with ongoing exhibitions and brand activations demanding fresh display solutions, resulting in a never-ending cycle of new display production. There are no easy solutions to sustainability, however investing in a TRIGA® DISPLAY system can help reduce a business’s ecological display footprint.

If a brand needs maximum visual appeal, but wants to check some sustainable boxes, they won’t be able to ignore the benefits of a TRIGA® DISPLAY tensioned textile solution. The system is designed to be expanded and reconfigured to cater for a clients ever evolving needs and remain in service for a long time.

Customers are more likely to interchange graphics or add hardware and use their system multiple times rather than discard their TRIGA® hardware after only one event or exhibition.

The hardware from a standard 9m TRIGA® Go wall can be reconfigured to create over 50 different display solutions, from totems, to L or U-booths, towers or even shaped structures with 90-degree angles. All that is needed are extra graphics to complete the display. The ultra durable construction means the system hardware can literally remain in service for years.

How Expo Exhibitors Can Support The Foundation

Maximise the impact of your print output during the expo by participating in the ‘Print for Good’ initiative by producing items such as maps, T-shirts, backpacks etc. to enrich educational opportunities. Artwork files are available from the expo organisers.

Recognising the environmental challenges associated with large-scale events, the Foundation is leading an innovative project to repurpose print samples produced during the event. Instead of contributing to waste, these samples will serve meaningful purposes, such as:

– Educational posters: high-quality print samples will be delivered to schools in need, providing visual aids and resources for classrooms.

– Student clothing: T-shirts and other wearable items will be produced for underserved schools, offering practical benefits while demonstrating the versatility of print technology.

– Community resources: additional printed materials, such as banners or instructional guides, will be distributed to support local initiatives and community programmes.

Sign Africa and FESPA Africa Expo, taking place from 9-11 September 2025 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) at Gallagher Convention Centre is sponsored by Stixo and Roland. Entrance is free, please register online.
